Eric Chavet (born 1976) was important for the foundation of the “Euregio Saxophone Orchestra”. He successfully submitted the appropriation request to the "Stichting Euregio Maas Rhein" and thus enabled the transfer from a vague idea to a concrete project. Chavet was one of the first pupils of the saxophone teacher Luc Marly at the music academy of the German speaking community in Eupen, East Belgium. Chavet finished his saxophone studies in 1998 summa cum laude. Since his early youth he played alto saxophone in his hometown in the “Royal Harmony Raeren". He was a member of the managing committee of the academy and organized numerous concerts. Since 2004 Chavet has been playing the baritone saxophone in the saxophone sextet “SixPack”. His former teacher Luc Marly founded “SixPack” in 2004 and he still is the director of this sextet. Chavet stopped playing for “SixPack”, but joined the the saxophone section of the "Eupen Big Band" in 2012 and at the same time he joined the saxophone quintet "Saxofolie” and overtook their guidance. In 2014 he stopped all his musical activities because of professional and private priorities. He has never made his hobby to his profession, but nevertheless the qualified business economist found time to successfully start music projects. They profit from his project management knowledge. As a free project management coach and consultant he helps many projects.
